The manga’s second anime adaptation premiered in 2011 and has a total of 148 episodes. Since the manga then inspired two anime series, two anime films, and several original video titles. Yoshihiro Togashi launched the Hunter x Hunter manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998. Previously, it has been on hiatus many times due to Togashi’s health. The manga returned from another hiatus in September 2018 but soon went back in April 2018. This announcement was then followed by a health scare from Togashi on his Twitter account. Togashi had commented in May’s Weekly Shonen Jump that he had finished the rough drafts for 10 chapters (the normal amount for a volume). Volume 37 will contain chapters 381-390 since they have not been published into a complied book volume just yet. Shueisha also stated that there will be the manga’s 37th compiled book volume. The platform has also added the previous chapter of the Hunter x Hunter manga to the magazine’s digital vault. However, it is important to note that in order to read, one must purchase a subscription from Viz. This will start on October 23rd and be available through Shonen Jump. Major announcement!!! The manga will have been on hiatus for three years, eleven months, when it starts back up. Shueisha announced Tuesday that Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter x Hunter manga will return in October after a four-year hiatus.
